With the vast distances between homes in the Newberry Springs area making traditional door-to-door trick-or-treating impractical, the community is once again coming together for its annual “Trunk or Treat” event. The celebration will take place on Saturday, October 10th, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Newberry Springs Community Park, located at 30884 Newberry Road.
For years, this gathering has given local children a safe, centralized way to enjoy Halloween close to home. Instead of navigating long, dark roads between far-flung houses, families can simply come to the park for an evening of festive fun in one convenient location.
This year’s event promises a family-friendly atmosphere with free candy for all children in attendance. Adding to the excitement, the celebration will also feature a free haunted house for those looking for an extra thrill.
Organizers are now inviting community members, businesses, and local groups to participate by setting up a trunk, table, or booth to hand out candy. Those interested in reserving a spot can contact Kari Packer at 760-617-1511.
Beyond solving the practical challenges of rural trick-or-treating, the event serves as a valuable opportunity for neighbors to connect, share in the holiday spirit, and create lasting memories for children—all within the familiar setting of the community park.
The Newberry Springs Trunk or Treat offers a simple, safe, and enjoyable solution for families across the area. Community members are encouraged to bring their children and join in the festivities on October 10th.
