FORT IRWIN — Yeehaw! The USO is bringing a little slice of country charm to the high desert this September with a old-fashioned Country Fair, and the military community is invited to kick up their boots for an evening of family fun.
Mark your calendars for Saturday, Sept. 19, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, as the USO Parking Lot and the Samuel Adams Parking Lot transform into a down-home fairground complete with food, games, and entertainment for all ages.
What to Expect
Attendees can look forward to a classic fair experience, including:
- Food trucks offering a variety of eats
- Fair-themed games and competitions with prizes for winners
- A petting zoo for the little ones
- Crafts and activities
- A baking competition for those with a talent in the kitchen
- HBBs (Home Based Businesses) selling a range of goods, giving local entrepreneurs a chance to showcase their products
Organizers are encouraging everyone to come dressed in their best country western gear—so dust off those cowboy hats and boots and get into the spirit of the evening.
Who Can Attend
As a USO-sponsored event taking place on a military installation, the Country Fair is primarily intended for active duty service members, military families, retirees, and authorized base personnel. Civilian guests without base access are advised to check with the USO or the Fort Irwin Visitor Center ahead of time to confirm attendance eligibility.
