NEWBERRY SPRINGS, CA — The Mojave Desert’s own YouTube adventurer is coming home to celebrate a major milestone.
Wonderhussy Adventures, the popular channel documenting offbeat desert explorations, Route 66 history, and quirky roadside attractions, is hosting a 300,000 subscriber party on Saturday, October 3, 2026, at The Barn in Newberry Springs .
The free event runs from 3 PM to 4 PM with gates opening at 3 PM and festivities starting at 4 PM . The celebration features live music by High Desert blues band The Blue Henrys, a meet-and-greet with Wonderhussy herself, classic cars, motorcycles, food trucks, and vendors .
A Community Celebration at a Route 66 Landmark
The Barn, located at 44560 National Trails Hwy, Newberry Springs, CA 92365, has become a gathering place for the community and a stop for Route 66 travelers alike . Owner Renee Kaminski has worked to preserve the venue as a civic hub for the region . Recent podcast interviews describe The Barn as a space hosting everything from karaoke nights to weddings .
Wonderhussy’s Route 66 Connection
The event ties directly to Wonderhussy’s ongoing exploration of the Mother Road. In a recent social media post, she announced “The Sun Run,” a Route 66 cruise from Victorville to Barstow that will culminate at The Barn as the afterparty . The route follows portions of County Route 66, which runs along the historic highway from Oro Grande through Barstow and east toward Needles .
“I think they’re letting me wave the checkered flag to start the run,” Wonderhussy posted. “Wax your jalopy and come on down! All are welcome to join — whether you have a classic car or not. All you need is a set of wheels and an interest in Route 66/Mojave Desert history” .
About The Blue Henrys
Providing the soundtrack for the evening is The Blue Henrys, a High Desert blues fixture since 2003 . Led by founder, lyricist, guitarist, and vocalist Henry Merenda, the band plays approximately 150 to 200 shows annually across the Inland Empire .
Described as “Victor Valley’s only blues band,” The Blue Henrys have shared stages with legends including Canned Heat, Taj Mahal, and Rod Piazza and the Mighty Fliers . Their sound is heavily influenced by Chicago blues, with a mix of covers and original material .
